Pricing and room rules

Clear prices and clear rules make your room easier for viewers and calmer for you. Viewers who know exactly what things cost ask fewer questions and tip more readily.

Your tip menu

A tip menu lists actions and their price in tokens. Tips for a good menu:

• Start short: five to ten items is plenty.
• Use a price ladder: a few cheap items (a wave, a song request, a spin) so anyone can join in, some mid-range items, and a few bigger ones.
• Only list what you’ll actually do. Chaturbate’s terms, for example, allow action against broadcasters who don’t honour their own tip menu.
• Look at the market: browse rooms similar to yours on the same platform before you set prices.
• Review after a week. Items nobody buys can go; popular ones can go up.

Token goals

Goals let many viewers work together: “Toy show at 500 tokens”. Ten viewers tipping a little is easier than one viewer paying a lot. Make the first goal of a show reachable, then set the next one.

Private, spy and group prices

• Start at the platform default. Defaults are usually sensible, and you can adjust once you know your demand. BongaCams, for example, defaults private chat to 60 tokens/min and lets you set 30–250.
• Raise prices when you’re busy: if your public room is full and tipping, a private show can cost you money.
• Allow spies where available. It’s extra income from a show you’re doing anyway.
• Offer member discounts sparingly (LiveJasmin lets you discount per member) to win back regulars without cheapening your prices for everyone.

Room rules

Pin short, friendly rules in your room description or bot, for example:

1. Be respectful to me and to others.
2. No requests for personal information or meeting up.
3. Requests are welcome; tips decide priority.
4. Mods’ decisions are final.

Protecting your boundaries

• Write your hard limits in your profile (“things I don’t do”). Some platforms have a dedicated field.
• You can always say no, even to a big tipper. Tips are gifts; a tip doesn’t oblige you to do anything that isn’t on your menu or agreed in advance.
• Use mute, kick and ban freely. Appoint a trusted regular as moderator.
• Never move a viewer to another app for payment. It breaks platform rules and removes your protection against chargebacks and scams.

A note on “fake tips”

On some platforms, scammers type fake messages like “you received a surprise of 100 credits”. Real tips and gifts always show up in your platform’s own notifications and balance. If you don’t see it there, it didn’t happen.
