Building a regular audience

On almost every platform, the performers who do well over time earn most from regulars: viewers who come back, recognise you and spend repeatedly. Building them takes consistency more than anything else.

Use your new-model window

Most sites give new performers extra visibility for a limited time (Stripchat advertises two weeks). Be online as much as you realistically can then, focus on getting followers, and don’t read too much into the income of those first days.

A schedule beats long random sessions

• Pick fixed days and times and post them in your profile and offline message.
• Followers get notified when you go live, so a predictable schedule turns notifications into visits.
• Consider your audience’s time zone: an American audience peaks at different hours than a European one.

Remember people

Use notes features (XCams, BongaCams and others have them) to remember names, preferences and past conversations. Greeting someone by name and remembering their last visit is one of the most effective things you can do.

Promote outside the platform (carefully)

• X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit are among the few mainstream platforms that allow adult content, within their rules. Post teasers and your live times.
• Use a separate stage-identity account, never linked to your personal accounts or phone contacts.
• Share your personal referral link: many platforms pay you extra for viewers you bring in (for example XCams pays a bonus for new visitors).
• Read each social platform’s rules; accounts can be removed without warning, so never depend on one channel.

Combining cam with fan and clip platforms

Check the rules first: many cam platforms forbid promoting other sites inside your room (Chaturbate’s terms do), even when they allow you to work elsewhere. Your own social media is usually the right place to link your channels.

Be patient and measure

Track your hours, earnings per hour and number of followers per week. After a month you’ll see what’s working, which is far more useful than comparing yourself to top earners.
